Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Line a brownie pan with baking parchment.
  3. In a large bowl, melt the butter and chocolate together.
  4. Place bowl over a saucepan of simmering water.
  5. Remove from heat and add sugar; mix well. 
  6. Add vanilla extract and eggs; mix until blended.
  7. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder; mix to combine.
  8. Pour into prepared brownie pan. 
  9. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the centre of the brownies no longer jiggles.
  10. Cool completely before cutting.

  • 200g (1 cup) dark chocolate, chopped 
  • 100g (1/2 cup) butter, chopped
  • 250g (1 1/4 cup) golden caster sugar 
  • 4 eggs 
  • 100g (3/4 cup) plain flour 
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 25g (1/4 cup) cocoa powder 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
